I believe that when you engage and approach people with compassion it provides an opportunity for people to feel safe, heard and acknowledged. For me, it’s about throwing away the notion that there is something wrong with us that needs fixing and embarking on an honest journey of self-exploration that allows us to gain deeper insight and awareness.
I have been working alongside people in a therapeutic capacity for the last 7 years. Whilst I have a traditional counselling education, I have developed my practice towards working within a holistic framework that acknowledges the needs of the heart, mind, body and spirit.
I work with a very diverse group of people of varying ages and backgrounds and have extensive experience working with trauma and vulnerable young people. I’m a strong advocate for Tino Rangatiratanga and honouring the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, which recognise and honour Māori in their indigenous sovereignty.
